Carroll County Public Schools Dramafest
I remember in my senior year of high school attending Dramafest as a student and it was a lot of fun. So, this year I was ecstatic to be able to help out at the event. My main purpose during the event was wrangling up students and getting them to the places that they needed to go. However, I was also able to help facilitate an acting Shakespeare workshop. I personally really only have experience with working backstage, so working with a group of acting students was an interesting experience.
Impact on Me
I was glad that I was able to come back as a volunteer to help at an event that I have fond memories of. It was a more personal event to me of all that I have done because I was able to see my old director from high school and some of my old drama club members. I know that my drama club in high school had a big enough impact on me that once I become a teacher I will likely want to be a part of helping my schools theater group. So, it was nice to be able to see this event from a different perspective than simply a student.

Impact on Others
By helping out at the Dramafest I know I was able to alleviate some of the stress of the event from the drama department. Since there was so many students, even with all of the volunteers and teachers that we had helping, it was hard to keep track of them all. I also know that without us volunteers contributing our time to the event, Dramafest would likely not be able to be as large and successful as it is. I can tell that simply since the two years that I attended the event, the amount of students that are participating in drama and that come to Dramafest have grown in size. I know how important Dramafest is to the students, so I am glad that I was able to help to make sure this event can be continued.
